Here it is the last day of January and the reports coming in from Lakes Baccarac and Huites over on the west coast just keep getting better with each passing day!

Starting to see more big fish up in the Rancho Padre, the White Cross area. John Pfeiffer from Montgomery, Texas, while fishing with Chino caught a 10.8, and Bob Musser, of Oxford, Maryland, fishing with Martin Figeroa, caught a 10-14 near the White Cross. Senkos, flukes are working excellent. Larry Richard reported 6 fish over 9 and 4 over 10 for his boat the past two days with all bigger bass caught near Russo's Island using weighed 9" Yumdingers rigged wacky style Bill Fenn caught 70 fish today Jan 16th using his fly rod only Bill's big fish was a beautiful 13.3 caught on little popping plug using his fly rod Jim Martin: 1-21-08 Fishing Jan 21st " Baccarac is back with a vengeance" " The Lodge and staff all excellent" Fishing with guide Felipe around the painted rocks topwater was good early with one giant at 13.3 caught. The best bite came from 1 oz rattletraps in Bone color and using black 1 oz jigs tipped with 7 inch blue power worms Be prepared for cooler mornings and bring some warm clothes! Larry Robinson: 1-22-08 Larry's group of eight flew into Bacubirito in their Private Citation Jet and have had a great trip. Larry landed two fish over 12 pounds day before yesterday the 22nd of January and also reported great numbers of over 120 bass for the boat while fishing up the river. Russ Johnson: 1-22-08 Reports several fish over 8 pounds near Sonny's cove on topwater and wacky style senkos Jesse Drain: 1-24-08 January 24th while fishing with guide Pista caught 11.7 and 10.7 using the big Senko. Leo Osborne: 1-24-08 January 24th while fishing with guide Juan caught a monster 14.3 along with a nice 12.0, 10.8, and a 10.0. Also in the same boat, John Kirby caught an 11.2. All the giants were caught using large senkos. *Jesse Drain: 1-25-08* January 25th Jesse does it again with two more Trophy Bass caught over 10 pounds along with his fishing partner Jason Bryant; who also caught 2 over 10 on "WACKY RIGGED SENKO'S! They were "chunkin" Russ's secret rigged "WACKO" SENKO!

LAKE HUITES

Let me tell you about one "Hot Mexican Lake!" I have been receiving rave reports from anglers that have recently fished beautiful Lake Huites over on the west coast. Huites has made a dynamic cycle back to some of the best angling in the world; with out of sight numbers of bass being caught on an average daily basis with good quality fish too. Can you imagine catching over 300 bass in one days angling? Well, customers have been doing this on recent trips to Lake Huites; and, these are not just wild estimates! These anglers have been using actual hand held counters and they keep very accurate records for their daily counts, as some of these groups always have a little competitive daily wager for total numbers and size bass caught. Granted, these are "hard core" very dedicated anglers that fish all day; but listen to the good part of this story. Almost every boat that spends 8 or so hours on the water each day is catching 150-225 bass per day with lots of quality 4-6 pound fish with good numbers of bass over 8 pounds also. And to make this report even better, whatever type lure you enjoy fishing the most will produce fantastic action at Lake Huites right now.

It used to be a pretty tough and grueling all day journey just to reach Lake Huites, but with our new Direct Air Charter services that we now are offering, we can fly you to within 15 minutes of the Lodge. We offer flights from either El Paso or Phoenix and the costs are approximately the same as flying commercial without all the hassles and the long hard three hour drive from Los Mochis.
