1.
Baccarac was heavily stocked with all Florida Genetics.
Therefore, there is not as much cross spawning with the smaller
Northern genetics. There were Northern bass in the Sinaloa
River before the lake was constructed and some Northern bass
were also stocked however, this population was so small that
this has never been a factor in the average larger size bass
population at Baccarac.
Two (2) of the world's largest top 25 bass
have been caught at Lake Baccarac! The "Official"
Certified Lake record bass weighed in at an incredible 19+
pounds.

Baccarac is located in the foothills of the Sierra Madre
Mountain Range which means it is a remote, difficult lake to
access for the local anglers in the area as well as drive in
American anglers. In fact, the closest large city is
located some 2-1/2 hours drive from the lake and there are very
few bass anglers living in Los Mochis; say compared to Monterey,
Nuevo Leon, a city of several million inhabitants with dozens of
local and area bass clubs and thousands of avid bass anglers.
There are tournaments at all area lakes in Northern Mexico most
any weekend of the year. The bass mortality at Mexican
tournaments coupled with the delayed mortality rate of trophy
bass is exceptionally high, especially during the hot summer
months when ambient air temperatures can exceed 110 degrees and
water temperatures are in the 90's at most of these Northern
lakes. This is not a factor at
Lake Baccarac.
All trophy bass are photographed and quickly released.
In other words, the "Trophy Bass Population" in Lake Baccarac is
not being exploited and depleted like they are at the Northern
Lakes in the States of Tamaulipas and Nuevo Leon!

Baccarac has very
strict-enforced rules
about the harvest of all Trophy Bass by local Commercial
fishermen and visiting American anglers alike. The lake is
managed strictly as a "catch and release" lake only and we
strongly recommend and promote plastic-fiberglass mounts!
Artificial Mounts are far superior to real-skin mounts and the
prices are sometimes cheaper than an actual skin mount without
all the problems associated with the skin mounts such as long
term discoloration and rotting problems. A plastic mount
never needs to be re-painted, but all skin mounts eventually
require additional work. In other words, Baccarac is truly being
managed as a Trophy "Catch & Release" Lake with mostly all
Florida Genetics that are increasing in size at incredible
rates!

Baccarac does not have fishing tournaments, nor does the
local association promote tournament angling.

Baccarac has excellent lakeside accommodations with fully
equipped bass boats to include 22 foot Skeeter's rigged with
300HP Mercury motors for those discriminating angler's that
require this type boat to have a
"successful
fishing trip."
The Lodge has some of the best guides that have ever been
trained on any lake in the world and they know how and where to
catch big bass throughout the whole fishing season and will
always do their very best to put you on the fish of a lifetime.

Baccarac has a very well maintained 5200 foot paved
airstrip which is located only minutes from the lake and Lodge.
Charter flights can be arranged from most anywhere in the US
which then fly you directly to the lake. This saves all
the hassles, delays, plane changes, lost tackle and luggage that
can be involved with all commercial flights, not to mention the
hard 2-1/2 hour drive from Los Mochis or Culican to the lake.
And as an extra added bonus; generally air charter customers can
get in an afternoon on the water their arrival day; in other
words, an extra one half day of fishing and extra time to
possibly land your largest bass of a life-time! We
specialize in Air Charter Service and fly King Air 200's, 350's
and large Cessna's with capacities for 6-8 customers with
baggage and gear.

Baccarac has the very best Local, State and Federal Lake
Association that has ever been formed in Mexico; with only one
goal in mind; and of course that being to make certain that Lake
Baccarac remains the absolute very best lake in all Mexico so
that all visiting anglers can have their best ever bass angling
adventure with the possibility of catching a bass of a lifetime
as well!
