NOTE:
1 METER = 3.3 FEET
As the above figures attest, most West coast Mexican Lakes are above or just about at the
same elevation this October as they were last year. One exception is
Lake Dominguez, located below Lake Hidalgo near the town of El Fuerte,
Sinaloa. Dominguez has been drawn down as much as possible for farmland
irrigation this past season and hopefully this older great fishery will receive
some run-off from Lake Hidalgo soon and it has been noted that major water release from Lake Huites has
started in the past several days which should allow for major release of water
into Dominguez via the new canal that was recently reconstructed.
Most West Coast Lakes have received beneficial rainfall from the
recent hurricane that made its way through Northwest Mexico.
