	Here is a great report from Fred Dawson Jr. who recently spent 4 days fishing Lake Baccarac: If this doesn't get your fishing fever up; nothing will! Pitch, A few corrections to your original report about my fantastic fishing trip to Lake Baccarac: Chet Cowsar caught 2 fish over 11 lbs (I) caught a 10.2 and 3 more over 8 and 1 at 9.5 the last day, the 3rd day I caught 97 for the day and Sture Berg (not Steve) caught 63 and our guide Juan caught 25 just playing around, 185 fish for the day in the boat. My boat averaged 120 bass per day. Super fishing in anyone's book. 75% on big crankbaits, but most all the very biggest fish came on big jigs and 9" senkos. I had one afternoon of 2 hrs non stop spinnerbait fishing. Big 1-1/2 oz Lastly, I had my braided line broken twice by big fish. Good new braid 65 lb. Interesting. I had one fish and Sture and Juan were witnesses, nearly to the boat, estimated was 12 plus, she rolled and broke the bill of a new D-22 completely off from the plug. Unbelievable! I wished I had boated her for she would have been bigger than my best of 13.2...................... The trip was by far the best I've ever had in all my years of fishing Mexican Lakes. All of the members in my group caught the largest bass of their lives and the food, service, guides, boats and accommodations were all excellent just as you told me. Terry spent some time with us and it was a pleasure to finally meet him. I plan to head down again in October or November and next spring as well and will be getting with you for our reservations soon. GET YOUR BASS DOWN HERE! MUY PRONTO! Kerry Adair from Amarillo caught a 11.6 Chris Scharbauer also caught a 10.5.. Perry Williams caught a 9.5 . The last afternoon on the water Kerry, Chris and Perry found a honey hole that produced a 100 bass without even moving the boat...RED HOT action! Dan Johns 12.2 on a pearl swimbait Mark Mabe 11.0 on a black jig Tons of big bass caught this week...The lake is only getting better and better as the water warms and the lake levels continue to drop in elevation concentrating the lakes HUGE trophy bass population even more. I personally look for this to be the best "Post Spawn" trophy action at any lake anywhere ever in the entire world during the upcoming months of May & June this year at Lake Baccarac! All the conditions are perfect for incredible action!!!! Fat Free Shad's, DT-16 Rapala's and DD-22 Crankbaits are producing most of the action and will only continue to produce trophy bass after trophy bass for the next several months....

Overall excellent angling with some boats catching over 100 fish per session: Fred Dawson caught a 9.8, 8.2, 8.3, 8.8 8.1 and 3 over 7 pounds - Kevin Byrne ( first Bass Fishing Trip) 8.0 and a 8.25 Chet Cowsan 9.1, 9.2, 9.13, 10.3, 10.1, 10.12 John Garrsion 8.2, 8.14 9.2 and 10.4 Steve Berg 8.2, 9.0 Andy Joiner 10.0, 10.11, 11.3, 11.6 and 12.4 Joe Annae and partner from Indiana caught an amazing 22 bass over 10 pounds including 3 over 12 pounds Bill Q from Bills Bait and Tackle 4 over 10 pounds with 25 over 8 pounds all 10 pounders were caught on topwater using a Zara Spook Gil Wright fishing with Bob Gist 10.0, 10.5, 11.14, 12.0 and a 13.3! Steve Gilcreast and Paul Kenndy 12.14, 12.1, and 11.3 with huge numbers caught The Coach! The Bobby Knight group: Coach Knight caught 10.13 using his Fly Rod along with outstanding numbers of bass caught on topwater popping bugs. Ross Jones 9.5, 9.7 and 10.11 Randy Farley10.1 and a 10.6 Lots more big fish to report...more later as time permits!

Nothing short of Excellent for the bigger fish. Joe Gaulhauser 78 years old caught 7 over 10 with the biggest one being 12.11...." best trip of my life" all the bigger fish came in the clear water using 7" Rapala Blue Floating Minnow Randy and Trey Black just had a an excellent trip Trey Black 5 1/2 years old ...thats right 5 1/2 years old caught a 11.2 pound bass with ole Randt catching a 12.0 pound bass Brad Newsome " To good to be True" report from Brad: 4 fish over 7 pounds using my Jerk bait Kit from Bass pro shop, the suspending Jerk baits worked the best ...Also we had 14 bass from 8.2 pounds to 11.3 pounds and most all of them where caught on a Lucky Craft Live Sammy it was gold in color

After taking a few days off at the Lodge for the Easter break we are back the water. Sonny Talkington has been have great luck and actually landed 7 over 10 on WEdnesday using Husky Jerk Baits Guide Chino and his brother Eddie have been on the big fish bite. Since Thursday morning the 27th of MArch Gary Boberg, Mike Connolly, Scott FRancis and Steve Chindgren have caught in 3 days of fishing 20 bass over 10 pounds (caught mostly on Black Jigs from Fat Bass Baits) *17 bass over 11 pounds* *7 bass over 12 pounds* *6 bass over 13 pounds* *3 bass over 14 pounds* *1 bass over 15 pounds* *1 bass over 16 pounds* ...BAccarac is the Best! March 31st report---- Randy and Chuck Beckum fishing with big fish guide PEDRO reported catching 20 bass 8 to 10 pounds using 1 oz blacks jigs from Fat Bass Baits.com Randy Beckum caught a 14lbs 11oz Chuck Beckum caught a 13lb 12oz Jim Ries caught a 12.0, 11.10, and 10.4 along with countless bass over 7 pounds Russ and Rene got to spend a little time on the water and found a honey hole near the famous Russo Inland on the north rock pile catching and releasing 15 bass over 10 pounds most all of there bass caught on 1 oz Black Jigs tipped with watermelon Russdingers

Resident PRO, Sonny Talkington: Having great action and actually landed 7 over 10 on Wednesday using Husky Jerk Baits! Guide Chino put his guys on the fish yesterday with Mike Connolly catching 12.8, 3 over 11, 4 over 10 while his partner Scott Francis caught 11.8, 3 over 10 and a 9.5.....Baccarac is the Best!

MEXICAN ADVENTURE

Yours truly just returned from "ANOTHER" bass angling trip of a lifetime with once in a lifetime action at fabled Lake Baccarac and several other Mexican Trophy Bass Factories as well!

In just one day on the water while fishing at beautiful Lake Baccarac this month, I caught and released a staggering 13 bass over 10 pounds, with a total of 17 Bass over 10 pounds while fishing this beautiful Mexican Bass Paradise!! I did not find the bass I was looking for (new lake record), but the action was non-stop once I got a few trophy spots located and the best trophy techniques-presentations mastered! Hopefully, I'll be able to spend some more time at this angling paradise again soon!

I was fortunate enough to be able to take a few extra days in travel time and trailer in my own boat that I have rigged exclusively for my Mexican Adventures! This sleeper bass boat is loaded with lots of extra electronics to include a new laptop computer programmed to access NEMA data outdoors in the bright sunlight.

Actually, the trophy action started off very slow for this old "Okie" at Baccarac and I had to struggle for a few days and change tactics several times before hitting on a great winning pattern with positive presentations in the beautiful clear waters of this awesome mountain lake. Without a doubt, Lake Baccarac has staggering numbers of 6-12 pound bass and with the lake management team that is in place at the present time, I look for this "Red Hot Bass Paradise" to only continue to improve over time.

I'll be posting lots of pictures and editing a great video, to include Terry Hollan's absolute awesome facilities at Baccarac Lodge where I was fortunate enough to call home for a few days. There is not another angling lodge in Mexico that comes remotely close to the overall service and excellence of this Mexican mountain paradise and from the moment you pass through the main gates of the Baccarac Lodge compound; you have no doubts about having an Angling Adventure of a lifetime!

Absolutely outstanding trip again. The food, accommodations, service and fishing were superior. Rene, Russ and the entire staff went out of their way to accommodate us once again. The fishing was awesome. Our group of 10 caught 29 fish over 8 pounds on our trip and all but one of us got his personal best fish. Matt Brewer scored dozens of fish in the 7 to 8 pound range and added a 9-0 and a 9-4 on Spooks. David Lewis had several 6 to 8 pounders including an 8-5, 8-7 and 8-10. David’s dad Jerry added an 8-0, 8-11 and 9-0. Joe Copeland boated an 8-0, 8-4, 8-5, 9-12 and a 10-1. Joe’s 82 year old dad James nailed a 9-2. Jon Parsley’s previous best was a 3 pounder; he landed an 8-0, 10-2, 10-13, 11-4 and a 13-7. Derek Krider nailed a 9-14, 10-3, 10-4, 11-5, 12-11 and a 14-3 (Big Fish). Can’t wait to return in November for some top water action. Correction: Dale Conover did not catch the 18.8 but it was his brother Mike Conover .....we are currently waiting on pictures from Dale and his brother

Overall the past few days have been excellent some sessions have been slow but it never last long, somebody comes back to the Lodge with a trophy Cole Paulson reported catching 141 fish in his boat today March 20th with 17 fish over 8 pounds ...Cole highly reccomends Pedro as a guide March 19th Tog Rogers from Houston Texas had an excellent topwater morning catching a 11.2, 10.6, and 10.1 using bone colors super spooks Group arriving on March 15th had an excellent morning on 17th of March Dale Conover caught 2 fish over 10, Mike Conover caught 1 over 12, Brad Taylor caught 13.6, 10.5, 11.6 Ed Portier caught 2 over 10 with a 10.6 being the biggest, Dillion Taylor caught a 10.11 and Cary Reggi caught a 11.7.........that is a morning of fishing! Tom Lanford caught 10.4, Ron Pickrlt caught 10.0 John Simmns caught 11.4 Derck Krider group of 12 had excellent results with all catching huge fish acording to the Lodge Derek ccaught 10.4, 12.11, 14.3 Randy Sweigart group of 6 caught 12 fish over 10 pounds

The fishing had slowed a little from the previous report but still very solid results!!! Baccarac is the "Best in Bass!" Tim Pollard Aircraft Sales group : Tim and his Dad both caught a fish over 10. Tim Pollard caught a 13.6 Archbaild group of 6 Landed 3 over 10 pounds, Dan Wallen the last morning on the water in 8 casts his 3 biggest fish weighed 29 pounds Charles Puff group of 8 Charles Puff landed a 12.15 and 11.5 the second morning on the water but his group member Brain McCreery caught 6 over 10 pounds while his fishing partner Todd Blumoff caught 2 more over 10 the second day James Bradely group of 8 flying in a King Air 200 James Bradley fishing with Sixto caught a 12.8 and 12.14 while Ted Hutto the first morning caught a 13.9, 12.5, 10.5 all in group had excellent results Gil Wright group of 16 Bob Gist broke his personal best with a 11.16 and Bob Flankien caught his first over 10 with a 10.5 the first morning on the Water Hunter landed an addtional 10.0 to his resume of big fish overall the group's fishing was slower than than prevoius weeks group but still very, very good Mike Wilson group of 16...excellent results Another great trip with everyone catching good fish. There were 12 over ten pounds and numerous over 7. The first day’s big bas winner was Dale Rich with a 10.2. The second day’s winner was Bracken Finnell with a 11.5. We had a jackpot the last day with each of the eight boats weighing one fish from each fisherman and it took 23 pounds to win. Congrads to Joe Podpechan 12.5 lbs. and Jim Simmons 10.5 to win. This was Jim’s forth trip with us and until this trip had never caught a fish over 7 lbs (he was the whipping post of the group no fault on the lake or the guide). This year he had a 7, 8, 9, and 10. Summary from Feb 11th to Feb 18th The fishing at Baccaraac has been nothing short of phenomenal. Personally being on the water, I have witnessed without a doubt the best fishery in the world producing the world's best angling. The number of 10+ lb. fish caught is too numerous to list for the last week. Troy Wells from California caught 22 over 10lbs. during his stay at the lodge. Steve Thomas of Dallas went out and caught a 10+ lb. fish every session his four days of fishing. Gayle Vaught of Arkansas, on Valentine's Day morning, caught 19 fish over 9 lbs. Now that's a Happy Valentine's Day! Gary West reported his best fishing trip ever, with fish up to 12 lbs. caught on a regular basis this past week. We have been fishing anywhere from 5 feet of water to 35 feet of water. Trent Loukas of Amarillo, TX, landed a 10.6 lber inches off of the bank using a solid black jig with a black trailer. 1 oz. spinnerbaits bounced on the bottom in 30 feet of water produced not only numbers but quality fish. Right now, Lake Baccarac has it all. If you want numbers, go up the river and you will catch all the fish you want. If you want trophies, as you can tell, they aren't too hard to find. More good news! Our five new rooms are complete and we have room at the lodge for more people for the rest of the season.

"Just a note regarding our trip this past week.Out of ten of us, everyone caught at least one 10 pound fish.

We had over twenty-five 10-11 pounders, three 11-12 pounders, one 12-13 pounder, and one 14 lbs 8 ozs.The trip was great. Its a little early for me to get deposits from everyone, but if you would, please reserve the same timeframe for ten of us next year.

We fished the Lake February 14 thru February 18, 2008.

This report pretty well says it all about Lake Baccarac over on the west coast. There has never been another lake in the world that comes close to the trophy angling now being experienced at Baccarac. MR. TERRY HOLLAN, owner of Lake Baccarac Lodge reports that the fishing has been nothing short of phenomenal; "Personally being on the water the past several days, I have witnessed without a doubt the best fishery in the world producing the world's best Bass angling. The numbers of 10+ lb. fish caught are too numerous to list for the past week." By the way, as an added note from yours truly; just in case you do not already know, every fisherman that experiences this incredible TROPHY action at Baccarac needs to understand that Terry Hollan is the man responsible for helping promote the catch and release a Trophy Bass Program that is now being practiced at Baccarac by all anglers; to include the commercial Mexican fishermen. There is absolutely no way the angling would be this outstanding without the hard work of Mr. Terry Hollan and his staff of dedicated personnel. When you get a chance, you need to personally thank this man for all his hard work, expertise and effort in making certain that you experience the finest bass angling in all the world while fishing Lake Baccarac! Great fishing at Lake Baccarac the last couple of days: Gary Whiiteheads boat caught 12.6, 12.1, 11.8. Steve Gilcreasts boat caught 10, 10.2. Paul Kenndy caught a 11.6, 10.15 and 13. Jeff Welch boat 10, 10.12 10.5, 10.2, and for the trip caught 6 over 10 pounds. Mike Kernan " World Class Fishery" Short and sweet most caught on Watermelon Jigs tipped with BIG Senkos Wissmaea canyon near the steep drop offs.
